Title: Seinfeld had a Nintendo
Post by: wildbil52 on September 29, 2012, 12:15:46 AM
I was watching Seinfeld tonight and I spotted 3 boxed NES games on his bookshelf.  Looks like Tetris, Super Spike V Ball, and Nintendo World Cup.

Neat! Good eye, man! I love noticing stuff like that on older shows, especially sitcoms. For what it's worth, Roseanne's family had a Super Nintendo, and I saw an N64 once on an earlier episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.

I noticed a Master System II on an episode of My Parents Are Aliens (Skip to 6:24)

It's a shame it's used like that though...

There's a bunch of Atari ones on The Atari Times site...look for "Atari on Film" and "Atari on TV" ones:

http://www.ataritimes.com/features.php

Some have yet to go up, since Greg's been redoing the site for a couple of years now.  For instance, I ran across one when I went back to finish up The Greatest American Hero on Hulu from when I lost track of it as a kid when they switched air dates at one point, coming across an episode that took place on a college campus that had a game room!  They had a Tempest cabinet (among others, like Dig Dug), but the Intellivision gameplay of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons was shown being supposedly played instead (sacrilege!)!

It just goes to show, the Game Boy is timeless.

You know what episode of the Drew Carey Show that is, by any chance?

In Angel (the Buffy spin-off series), Season 5, Episode 12 - Spike is seen playing the original Donkey Kong arcade game on an o.g.  XBOX somehow. Maybe he modded it in his spare time, who knows?

Good eye, Bil!

Also, there is no cartridge in the Game Boy in Noise's second pic.  :)

Wow.  I can't believe I just did that.  Sorry Bil!

As we can see, I certainly don't have good eyes.   :ninja:

Well this is weird timing.

I noticed the Game Boy Color in her hand on episode one of That's My Bush. Was gonna watch this and go to sleep, but I had to spend the extra few moments to post it here after I saw this.

It was Rosanne. They couldn't afford one after buying the system.

I wish i could remember where i saw it but they had a system and were playing with the controller for a competing system...
Kinda like that rapper who had the PS2 in his car but in the music video they were playing an Xbox. Chamillionaire?

From what I remember, the Saturn was on top of Drew's TV for a fare amount of episodes.
I remember an ep of Wired Science they were playing Sega Rally on a Saturn.

It's like the 1990s encapsulated, isn't it? Quaint, in a way.

I remember there being an entire episode involving them trying to buy DJ an SNES for his birthday.

I'm fairly certain he ended up getting a Dreamcast eventually too. Drew had great taste in consoles.
