Title: dual screen pc games Post by: Arrrhalomynn on June 15, 2004, 09:03:13 AM Nowadays most videocards can handle more than one monitor. I have my tv, lcd screen and crt monitor connected and I'd like to play some games that make use of this setup. What games could I try?
Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Lord Nepenthean on June 15, 2004, 09:26:39 AM Are there actually PC games that already support this? I've heard of people talking about adding support for it in new games, and I know there are ways of do-it-yourself multi-monitor gaming, but I didn't know there were PC games that support multiple monitors as a regular feature out of the box.
Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Hydrobond on June 15, 2004, 09:31:15 AM The Microsoft flight sims support multiple monitors. I know there are other games out there, but I have never tried it. It would be handy for WC3 and the like.

strange. http://www.gameandwatch.com/screen/multiscreen/ the way everyone is talking, i would have thought the gameboy DS was an innovation. Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Hydrobond on June 15, 2004, 09:56:35 AM ON THE SUBJECT:
Here is a list of games that support more than one monitor. http://www.matrox.com/mga/3d_gaming/surrgame.cfm http://www.matrox.com/mga/3d_gaming/enhanced_games/media/ut2003/l_ut2003_8.jpg http://www.matrox.com/mga/3d_gaming/enhanced_games/media/mafia/Mafia_L09.jpg http://www.matrox.com/mga/3d_gaming/enhanced_games/media/nascar/nascar_L_05.jpg http://www.matrox.com/mga/3d_gaming/enhanced_games/media/nwnights/l_nwn_3.jpg Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Arrrhalomynn on June 15, 2004, 11:01:11 AM Hmmm... Deus ex supports multiple screens. I've got that game, but never knew that. It all looks pretty impressive, but not very convenient. Especially not for me, with 3 very different screens. Still cool though.
Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Sureshot on June 15, 2004, 12:52:23 PM I think Quake 3 supports multiple screens, I could be wrong though.
Oh, I see I am by that list :P Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Hydrobond on June 15, 2004, 02:18:09 PM Anything that runs off of the Quake III engine supports multiple screens, Deus Ex included.
Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Arrrhalomynn on June 15, 2004, 02:50:52 PM But Deus Ex doesn't run on the quake 3 engine ;)
Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Hydrobond on June 15, 2004, 04:00:03 PM Hmm... I always thought it was.
Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Arrrhalomynn on June 15, 2004, 04:39:16 PM I wish it was, it would make the game look a whole lot better. I believe they use the quake 2 engine, but it might also be a heavy modified quake 1 engine.
The problem with these games is that they all requre a matrox card, and I have a geforce, so I don't think it'll work. I can't even spread my desktop out over 3 screens. 2 is the maximum. Title: Re: dual screen pc games Post by: Hydrobond on June 15, 2004, 08:33:58 PM Actually, Deus Ex used the Unreal Tournament engine, at least from what little I found by doing a google search.

Pure genius.
